Puppy Love

I don't think there is anymore more precious than a love between a boy and his dog. Ethan has always loved the dogs, however the older he gets the more he is really into his 4 legged friends. He wants to know where they are, how they are, and cuddle with them on a nightly basis.
I
Jake is an old dog... both in soul and in body. He usually tries to leave the room when Ethan walks in knowing what Ethan is about to do. But in the last week he seems to just not care. When Ethan yells "JAKE- WHERE ARE YOU? COME HERE!" He slowly but surely comes and joins him.
And Peeka usally tries to get as high as she can- but unfortunatly, two year olds can climb.

I love little boys... I love dogs... and I love the sweet relationship they have with eachother. I can't wait for Tyler to get older to watch him chase the dogs around too.

If you don't have something nice to say...

Just dump your pictures and walk away.
So, since things are a tad stressful here I will chose to put up pics of my favorites and keep the bitching to myself.

A REAL "Weee-Ohhh!"

Ethan has called firetrucks "wee-ohhs" for a long time since thats the noise they make. He loves seeing them on the road. So, when I heard the firemen were coming to visit school I thought for sure both boys would be delighted...

However...

Daddy's Vacation

I love being a boy mommy. I love little boys and am so grateful that God chose me to raise these two. What I haven't realized is how much Ethan has become a daddy's boy. Bryan was home on vacation all last week and it became so very evident to us that E has switched over from mommy's boy to daddy's boy.

We spent the whole week just soaking in every moment we could with daddy. First was Wild About Harry's... name something better for boys than hot dogs and ice cream?!?! NOTHING!

All 3 of the boys ate all their hot dogs.

Then we headed to the mall on Tuesday for a morning walk. Ethan wanted to get out of the stroller and walk with daddy. Who needs mommy and Tyler when daddy is around. Then Ethan wanted to eat (an hourly occurrence) and wanted to sit "MYSELF" and I let him. This is a fun but hard age for ME. He wants to so  much alone. I know he is still very dependent on mommy and daddy, but I also know its my job to make sure that he can live independently. And sitting at a table 12 feet away is a great first step. Oh God help me, if this was tough on my heart I can't imagine the day he gets his license.

The one thing both boys love is story time with daddy.. Tyler is no exception

"Dada's Shoes?!?" He wants to be just like daddy.

Towards the end of the week the kids and I started to get sick with allergies (you know I am a good mom who passed on my cool genes of sensitive skin and seasonal allergies). Both boys started to run fevers so I was taking their temperature as much as I could to see if it would break in time for school. Well, monkey see monkey do around here and I turned around to find Ethan taking Jake's temperature. Poor dog- the two of them have a love ate relationship (Jake HATES that Ethan LOVES him).

And we ended vacation just how Ethan would want it- special time with daddy. Golf lessons. At 2 he has ZERO patience in learning, so it became more of a "smack the ball" kind of a game.

Tyler, I am glad to say, is still a momma's boy. He may be my last baby so I am soaking in every second that he wants to be with me. I know some day VERY SOON he is going to want to be with daddy more.

Real Life Pictures

Sometimes I find myself looking for the "pretty" pictures to post on FB or the blog, when honestly the "real life pictures" are what our life is really about. So here is our REAL LIFE.

This picture makes me laugh every time. Bryan just happened to have his camera and I was attempting to put Ethan's shoes on- which apparently is a horrible thing to do. Look at that face. And then Tyler's little neglected head in the background.

We tried to get the boys to get their pictures on the couch and chair- well they turned out like THIS!!

Ethan picked his own Easter basket this year- this frog thing. It's the ugliest thing I have ever seen, but he loves it!! In fact, he wore it to nap in yesterday and woke up a very happy and very sweaty little boy. He wears it around the house and marches like one of the soldiers in Wizard of Oz. If he sees it-it goes right on his head.

My mom wanted to get the babies in Easter Bunny Ears... Umm... A 2 year old, an 8 month old and a 3 month old. Yea- well at least the adults cooperated.

I always get on Bryan for not taking "posed pictures" but I think there is something to these real life moments that I am so glad we captured. I will miss these real moments far more than the posed ones.

Easter

Oh, Easter. It's my favorite holiday. For me it's the reason we are Christians. Many people believe that Jesus was born, but its EASTER and the resurrection that is the reason we will have eternal life in heaven if we believe in him.

We went to church on Saturday to avoid the crowds on Sunday... forgetting we go to a large church and every service would be crowded. But it was so nice to head to church on Saturday and head to dinner relaxed. The boys got to wear jeans to church with matching polos. I attempted to get a picture of them in their "Easter best"... and this is what I got...

Not bad-- I guess. Soon after these pictures the water works started so we loaded the car for church and then Amigos for dinner. YUMMY!!! All through dinner, Ethan was so excited to eat rice and beans, he started yelping "Oh thank you mama... oh thank you dadda... YUMM!!" Gotta love a boy who is thankful for his food.

Sunday morning we took the morning to watch Veggie Tales, have our own little Easter Egg hunt and Easter Cinnamon rolls. "Easter Egg Hunt" is a lose term around our house. Ethan would find an egg and then want to eat whatever was in it. Mommy might have gotten a tad impassiante and put all the rest of the eggs in his basket. Tyler found two eggs and chewed on them till they broke. So... success I suppose.

In the afternoon we headed to my parents house for fried chicken, chit chat, and fun. Having 3 kids under 2 is too fun. I can't wait for the coming years when they can all play together. Right now its Ethan running around like a chicken with its head cut off while Tyler and Hannah just stare at him.
