Round 2 of Padre

I am wishing right now that I was back on the beach. The return to reality has been a rough one. The kids love being home, but we have a week of rain- YUCK, house hunting NOT going our way and a job hunting ending in road blocks. So for now I will cling to these pictures.. PRICELESS memories.

Daddy and Ethan running into the ocean. He continued to ask "can i come back when i am 3?"

Many hours spend on the porch playing dinosaurs verses superheros game. Especially first thing in the morning when its just me and my friend Ethan.

Tyler LOVED seeing all the big turtles and petting animals at the zoo. Priceless days with my blonde boy.

The Dallas zoo has no hippo... WEIRD. So we are so grateful for the Brownsville zoo for having TWO hippo friends.

Beach in October? YES PLEASE!!! (Round 1)

There is no other place I would place I would rather be in the fall than the beach. The water is still cool enough to swim, the beaches aren't crowded, and its cool enough for early morning walks with jackets in the morning.  So the 4 of us spend a week in South Padre thanks to my sweet friend who let us stay in her amazing beach home. WHAT A GIFT. We haven't been on vacation since before Tyler was born, and that was only a weekend away. With job hunts and a house hunt we needed a BREAK.

Now traveling with a 1 & 2 year old should not be called "vacation"... it's not horrible, but it's not vacation. It is simply living somewhere else with the excuse to eat a ridiculous of fast food and ice cream.

We honesty spent a lot of time thinking "okay, what can we do where there won't be a meltdown?" which led to several episodes of Clifford and Sid the Science Kid. And as seen several snacks outside on the patio with apparently some deep conversations.

The boys LOVE the beach, which we hope to make a yearly tradition. It didn't take them long to have NO FEAR and run into the ocean. However, that sparked A LOT OF FEAR in mommy.

I know Daddy's don't get a lot of photo time, so it was my joy to capture these priceless father son moments. Too cute.

And poor Tyler. He is cutting 4 teeth- perfect timing. And so we had a meltdown like this several times a day... and by several I mean 20-30.

I love Padre because they have so much other stuff to do than the beach. We spend a lot of time at the local park, the zoo, the Walmart (hours of entertainment), the Turtle Rescue. LOVE THIS PLACE

Lately...

Lately life is ridiculously busy and I have had EVERYTHING and NOTHING to do. Luckily vacation is right around the corner and I will have more time to sit, breathe, journal and blog. Oh- the things that fill my spirit.

In the meantime I am soaking in the VERY RARE quiet moments. The moments where the boys are taken back by a squirrel in the backyard, are taking a nap or have cheetos stuffed in their mouth.

Super Hero Squad

First, I have an addition from last week's blog. This is AMAZING!!! After the initial envelope of generosity, I received 2 job opportunities and a gift card for groceries from an anonymous friend. WHAT?!?! Once again, I am not tooting my own horn- I already didn't get one of the jobs, and with two little boys with teenage appetites, the grocery money is mostly spend. It has been a HUGE blessing and reminder of our loving God~~ HUGE BLESSING!!!

Alright- And on to the fun ridiculousness of the Head house. Look at these sweet boys? This is my morning routine lately. Apple juice, crayons and stickers. It's just about the only 30 minutes of the day they aren't going at each other!

And then we have costumes- oh costumes. When Ethan started getting into superheros I wasn't sure I liked it. I don't like the roughness, I don't like the weapons.. I suppose I wanted them to sit down to fairy tales and Dr Seuss and want to play chess. I don't know- just not superheros.
But I have had more conversations about Jesus using Super Hero's than I expected. Conversations about
- Is Jesus in the Super Hero Squad?
- What's His Super Power?
-So, where does Jesus live?

We talk about how we don't need to fear when Wolverine is around, because he scares off the bad guys. Which always leads us to talk about how we need to NEVER FEAR anything because GOD IS BIGGER THAN HULK!! (which always bring a look of complete surprise to a 2 year olds face)

THANK YOU GOD FOR SUPER HEROS!!

And then there's this cute little one... who just likes to do whatever his brother likes.

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING ABOUT MY GOD'S PROVISION

Okay, so God has come through in the last 10 seconds of the game for our little family. Bryan got his first promotion THE DAY BEFORE we got married. He got his 2nd promotion the day we brought Ethan home from the hospital (not the day he was born!). And we have been waiting for Him now.

Bryan has allowed me to stay home with the boys the last two years, but it looks like its time for me to work full time again, and well- its stressing me out. Apparently enough for my 2 year old to say "CHILL OUT MOM!"

Well, I have been spending countless hours praying, searching, crying, praying, searching crying .. repeat. Today, I was tired from a long night of applying and had NO INTENTION of going to CBS (community bible study), but Ethan was marching around his room saying "BY-BUL-STUD-EEE" so off we went. During prayer request I spilled my guts. Talking about what a compassionate husband I have who reminds me that God will provide...and that we are fine now...but how I panic at the end of the month when I see our bank account ...and that i am stressed out... and that so many old demons are coming to fight me... and to be honest I am not sure I was coherent, but I was honest. The sweet ladies all promised to pray, gave ideas, and then began to pray over the situation in the room. When I left I felt a calm I hadn't felt in a while. When I got home I needed some more reassurance and looked in the Bible for Matthew 6:26

"Look at the birds, they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

As I opened my Bible an envelope fell out. An envelope filled with money. At first I panicked that I had stolen the money from our offering. It would happen to me for sure. I would be the one in the group that steals money from the sweet blind old woman who came to visit today. So, I immediately shot a message to my director in fear that the offering money fell out of the collection and into my Bible. I couldnt figure how it got in there- I swear I had my Bible the whole time. But her response was this..

Sarah- No it did not fall out. That money is a gift to you from God to encourage you that He is always there and will take care of all your needs. You are a treasure to our group. I will be praying for you and your family.

God shows up! GOD ALWAYS SHOWS UP! Right in the last minute when I am about to break, or pull my hair out, or eat an entire bag of Malanos... HE SHOW'S UP and says "I am here- I have always been here. I will take care of you. You are mine and I love you."

This post isn't about money. The amount of money in the envelope isn't of much value- but the reminder is priceless. WAIT ON HIM- HE WILL PROVIDE! He may not provide what I want, but He will ALWAYS provide what I need. He may not always provide when I want, but His timing will ALWAYS bring him Glory.

What are you waiting for? what provision do you need from Him? CALL ON HIM! WAIT ON HIM! He is listening, He is holding your hand, He is whispering "Wait.. I gotcha... I promise."
